Pitso Mosimane is one of the highest-paid coaches on the African continent and Al Ahly boss Mahmoud El Khatib, recently revealed that Jingles could be in for an increase on his R54 million contract.
There has been much speculation stirred up over the coach's future with the back-to-back CAF Champions League coach entering the last 12 months of his contract with the club. This was hastily settled after talks between Mosimane and Al Ahly last month.
Now, 'Bibo', the charismatic Al Ahly boss has opened up on the reason behind the talks, while revealing that the coach, who reportedly takes home a package of around R2 million a month, is deserving of an increase, despite not asking for one during negotiations.
"With elections starting soon, we preferred to postpone the contract extension talks, but the coach didn't ask for a salary change. However, he does deserve an increase after his achievements with the club.
The club boss has maintained his faith in the South African coach, who has received unfair criticism from factions of the Egyptian press.
"I believe Pitso is on the right path. He's achieving a lot with the club, and he's facing a lot of unnecessary criticism," he added.
