PSL Play-Offs
Result: Orbit College 0-0 Casric Stars
Date: 11 June 2025
Venue: Olympia Park
Both Orbit and Stars were last in action back in May, with the latter ending the season unbeaten in their last four matches while the latter are unbeaten seven encounters coming into this play-off opener.
Stars already had the upper hand over Orbit in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this season, winning 2-0 at home while the reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw.
The tempo of the first half was played at a lively tempo, but the game's first big opening arrived on 20 minutes when Casric Stars' Thabang Semache saw his powerful strike from the edge of the box brilliantly palmed away by goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane.
Orbit, meanwhile, had a couple forays into the Stars 18-yard area as the half went on, but they were ultimately let down by their decision-making in the final third as they failed trouble goalkeeper Lako Wendeu Wende.
The home side responded with their first change at the start of the second half, with Letsie Koapeng making way for Gomolemo Khoto in the attack.
However, not much changed from both sides in the second period as clear-cut chances were hard to come by from both ends of the field, which would have made Cape Town City happy.
Orbit threw on two more changes with just under 20 minutes left on the clock, with Moikhomotsi Thibede and Ayanda Lukhele introduced with the hope of livening up the attack, with Lethabo Modimoeng and Tshepo Matsemela.
Even with the flurry of changes in the closing stages, neither side were able to find the breakthrough in the closing stages and were forced to settle for a point a piece.
Orbit will now travel to the Western Cape on Saturday to take on Cape Town City at the DHL Stadium.
