Stellies switched five places around, as goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke had only his second start, alongside recalls for Athenkosi Mcaba, Darrel Matsheke, Andre de Jong and Qobolwakhe Sibande.
Spurs made the same number of changes following their narrow loss against Royal AM, as Nazeer Allie, Michael Morton, Luvuyo Phewa, Ashley Cupido and Chumani Butsaka were recalled.
Steve Barker's charges had a perfect start after Iqraam Rayners gave them the lead eight minutes from the start with a strike past goalkeeper Sam Ramsbottom after going clear on goal.
The Maroons had their tails up and De Jong had a chance to double their lead on 25 minutes after he was offered space in the box but fired his shot wide.
The game opened up and Spurs had two good chances towards the interval after Cupido and Luke Baartman slipped through on goal but they were twice denied by Masuluke who came off his line on both occasions.
Spurs made an attacking change at half-time as former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Bradley Ralani replaced Jarrod Moroole.
However, Stellies settled the quickest from the break as Rayners and Jayden Adams had two good chances but could not find the target.
However, Adams eventually doubled the lead for Barker's men just after the hour-mark with a header in the box after a cross by Devin Titus.
Ernst Middendorp's charges were committing numbers forward and were caught on a high press with 12 minutes to go, as Matsheke put the result beyond doubt with a shot into a gaping net after good work by Antonio Van Wyk, who won the ball high up in the box.
Stellies were threatening to run riot in the dying minutes and Mervin Boji had a chance to make it 4-0 in stoppage time after going through in the box but his shot was saved by Ramsbottom off his chest at the near post.
The win took Barker's troops up to fourth on the table while Spurs remained rooted at the bottom of the log.
