Orlando Pirates have emerged as favourites to land the signature of a sought-after Bafana Bafana player as the season nears an end, according to well-placed sources.
The Siya crew reported last week that the Buccaneers have reignited their interest in Golden Arrows winger Pule Mmodi and sources have since revealed that the KwaZulu-Natal outfit is aware of the interest in the 29-year-old and is willing to sell at the end of the season.

Abafana Bes'thende are keen to cash in on Mmodi seeing that his contract is coming to an end in June next year and do not want to enter into the last year of his deal at a risk of losing him on a free.

"Golden Arrows is keen to sell Pule Mmodi and the player is also interested in making a move to Gauteng after doing so well in his first two seasons in the PSL (DStv Premiership) since joining the club from Uthongathi. The club is aware of the interest from Pirates and other clubs in the player," said the source.
Mmodi is said to be keen on reuniting with former coach, Mandla Ncikazi, who gave the player his top-flight debut.
