When Ndah Could Return At Pirates

When Orlando Pirates provided the details of Olisa Ndah's injury in October, there was unhappiness among the club's supporters who had initially warmed up to the defender's return to form.

Ndah started the season like a house on fire, playing regularly and doing well with top performances alongside Thabiso Sesane in the heart of Pirates' defence.

The towering Nigerian was on nine appearances across all competitions and having already scored his first goal for the club in the MTN8 – a trophy which the Buccaneers went on to defend, he was then unfortunately disrupted by an injury in September.

When Bucs announced that the dreadlocked player would be out for the rest of the year, there had been fears that his time on the sidelines could stretch to closer to the end of the season.

At the time, it was feared that the 26-year-old might have broken a leg during his aerial challenge with an opponent in the match against Polokwane City which resulted in him landing awkwardly and not making it back onto the pitch.

Looking forward, indications are that the defender could be back early next year to compete for a return to matchday squads in the second half of the season.

In Ndah's absence, Nkosinathi Sibisi has been playing and doing well alongside Sesane, while Jose Riveiro's side has also been boosted in recent weeks with the return of Tapelo Xoki from a long injury layoff although he is understood to be still working on his fitness.

"It's been several weeks that he has been out, (Ndah was injured on September 24) and there has been progress made along the way. It would have been worse if there was a leg break or something like that but fortunately it didn't get to that. He should be back early next year, probably late in January or early in February, around there," said the source.
