For the first time this season Orlando Pirates had won two league games in a row, so their former captain and defender Edward "Magents" Motale believes the FIFA break will "kill" their momentum.

Bucs beat Sekhukhune United 1-0 over a week ago, and then they edged Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the derby last weekend. They have struggled to gain momentum this season, so this FIFA World Cup qualifying 'break' is not great for their momentum.

Talking to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview, Motale stated that all Bucs players wanted to continue playing and winning for their club.

"This break is not good for Pirates. It didn't come at the right time. They had just won two games in a row and any team would have wanted to continue playing at that stage," Motale told Soccer Laduma.

"I know that we already knew that after the derby it will be a FIFA break but the momentum won't be the same when they come back from the break. You know after winning two games and keeping two clean sheets the team was coming well together.

"Now, the players are at different  national teams and you don't know how they will come back. But I still believe that they will do good even after the break," Motale told Soccer Laduma.

South Africa beat Benin 2-1 in their first FIFA World Cup qualifier, at home on Saturday, and then on Tuesday Bafana Bafana will play away to Rwanda in their second group game.
