Maela Eyes Pirates Glory For New Year

Maela Eyes Pirates Glory For New Year

In the past two seasons, Orlando Pirates have secured five trophies in three MTN 8 titles and two Nedbank Cup, but the Premiership title and CAF Champions League have continued to elude them.

Captain Innocent Maela believes that 2025 could be a breakthrough year, with the potential to surpass their achievements from the previous two seasons.

Speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma, Maela expressed confidence in the team's ability to compete on all fronts and win more trophies.

"Our aim to to keep on improving every year and every season. In the past two seasons we won two trophies each season and this season we have already won the MTN8 and we want to win more trophies in 2025," the defender said to the Siya crew.

"We have the League, Nedbank Cup and the Champions League at our disposal and we want to fight in all of them so that we have a better 2025. That's what we will be fighting for to make it a better year for us, the team and the supporters," Maela told Soccer Laduma.

Maela also added that the spirit among the players is a key factor in driving the team's progress.

"The spirit is high in the dressing room. Everyone is supporting each other and that's very important for the team to do well. We are all on the same page to see the team do well and win more trophies.

"We know it won't be easy but we are ready for the test to do the best and win as many games as we can which in turn will help us win as many trophies as we can. We have to make 2025 better than the past two seasons," Maela concluded.
