The 36-year-old has not played for a topflight club since his departure from Orlando Pirates, which came at the end of the 2017/18 season.

With no prospects of continuing his career as player, which has also seen him feature for the likes of Free State Stars and Platinum Stars, Gcaba has taken the decision to resort to coaching.
"I was called when I was at home. I was relaxing and my wife took the kids to Randburg to do some trials and then she spoke to the chairman, and I had a call to say come to Jo'burg and coach. I thought okay, at the same time I'm still playing, but I thought that my time has probably come, let me just sit and retire and turn to coaching. I've been here for two weeks now. It's still new, but I'm happy and learning a lot," the Port Shepstone-based defender told the Siya crew, as he confirmed that he has taken up a coaching role at Randburg AFC juniors in Johannesburg.
