The representative of Lesotho national team striker Sera Motebang has confirmed that there had been interest from Orlando Pirates in the player, before he was signed by Bloemfontein Celtic.
Motebang was signed by Siwelele in July last year from Lesotho Premier League side Matlama FC, after impressing with his performances.
So far in his first season in the Absa Premiership, the 25-year-old played in 11 matches in the league for the Mangaung outfit and scored four goals, before the PSL break due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
The player's representative Ernest Mokoena confirmed to the Siya crew that the Buccaneers were the first PSL club to show interest in the forward, before he landed in the Free State.
"Pirates were interested in Sera Motebang. Pirates actually wanted him before Celtic but the deal collapsed I don't know what happened. They never came back," said Mokoena.
Motebang finished last season as the top goalscorer in Lesotho with 18 goals, and was voted as the Player of the Season for Matlama.
