Nedbank Cup Last 32 Report: Platinum Stars 3-0 The Magic FC 22 February 2015

Eleazar Rodgers

Nedbank Cup - Last 32    Result: Platinum Stars 3-0 The Magic FC   Date: 22 February 2015   Venue: Royal Bafokeng Stadium   Platinum Stars advanced to the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup after defeating The Magic FC 3-0 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday afternoon.   Dikwena got off to the perfect start in the third minute, as Eleazar Rodgers' flick-on managed to make its way into the back of the net.   Edgar Manaka should have doubled the lead in the 23rd minute but he failed to steer his header on target from three-yards out.   Allan Freese's extended their lead just before the halftime break, after they were awarded a penalty, which Vincent Khumalo slotted away.   Bryce Moon came close to getting his name on the score-sheet in the 63rd minute but his low-driven effort crashed against the upright.   The lead was eventually increased three minutes later, as Rodgers rose highest to head home Moon's delightful cross.   Vuyo Mere should have added a fourth in the closing stages of the game, but the Dikwena skipper blasted over from close range with the goal at his mercy.   Other result:   Maluti FET College booked their spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup, after they defeated African Warriors 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.   Here's how they lined up:   Platinum Stars: Damse, Mere, Sithole, Shitolo, Masenamela, Mathe, Khumalo, Moon, Manaka, Segolela, Rodgers   Magic FC: O'Brien, Fransch, Dickson, Opperman, Bezuidenhout, Sotashe, Maqungo, Okkers, Seti, Williams, Petersen
