Komphela Praises One Chiefs Player After Baroka Win

Steve Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela had some kind words for one of his players following the win over Baroka in the Nedbank Cup.

While happy with the result, Steve Komphela was not too pleased with the scoreline, given the number of chances they spurned in the end, particularly in the first half.   "With the outcome yes, but it could've been better, yes. I think first half we could've gone into the break leading 4-0. There was a ball that I don't know how it stayed out from Pule," Komphela told SuperSport after the game.   "There was another one from (Leonardo Castro), (Ryan) Moon that hit the post and the penalty. But listen these things happen in football. The most important thing is going to the next stage and get the confidence."   "All that I wish is our supporters must support the players. As much as you want to see player B coming out for A, it works on B. Chiefs are loving and peaceful and we want to see them remain forever," he added.   Komphela lavished praise on midfielder Pule Ekstein, who raised his hand with a stellar performance, saying he has 'unbelievable game intelligence'.   "Pule has unbelievable game intelligence. Maybe being supported by Shabba (Siphiwe Tshabalala)," the coach added. "You know, two or three heads are better than one and when you get someone to help you connect with your thinking line, it looks better.   "He is very quick. He's got feet that I sometimes don't know how he is able to carry the ball like that. He is calm and growing in confidence. He understands how to carry the ball forward and finish.   "Maybe now he needs to work on his finishing. He could've scored a goal today. But you can see he is getting to the right levels," Komphela said
