Acting SAFA CEO, Russell Paul, announced his departure from the position within South Africa's football governing body. Paul will now form part of the 2022 Qatar World Cup organizing committee.
Seen as highly competent, SAFA President Danny Jordaan, was complimentary about Paul's work within FIFA's organizing committees in the last three World Cup tournaments, 2010, 2014 and 2018.
In a press conference, Jordaan also announced:
- SAFA's new acting CEO
- SAFA's progress and stability under Russell Paul's leadership
And
- The profile of a suitable permanent CEO candidate.
