Speaking after their arrival, Van Wyk was bursting with pride after her team's efforts in the FIFA Women's World Cup in France.
"On the player's behalf, we've had a fantastic experience. Our first time representing our amazing country at the World Cup and we knew right from the start that it was going to be a tough one for us, especially with the three teams that we were grouped in. It was really not easy out there," van Wyk said.
"I'm sure that everyone jumped off their seats when Thembi Kgatlana scored that goal and thought wow and it wasn't a comeback goal, it was our first World Cup goal in the opening game against Spain and we were really fired up.
"We didn't fail to make our country proud; we didn't fail to put out everything that we had. I'm sure the world got a glimpse of what women's football is like in South Africa and the talent that we produce here and I am pretty sure and confident that there's a lot of players that will get contracts overseas and people that will reach out," she added.
