Wits Coach, Gavin Hunt, Believes His Side Can Beat Orlando Pirates...

Bidvest Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, has refused to rule out his side's hopes of overcoming a 2-0 deficit against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 second leg semi-final.

The three-time league winning coach pointed out that he had beaten Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 earlier in his coaching career, and he felt repeating this against Bucs was a real possibility.

Ezika Magebhula lead 2-0 after winning the first leg semi-final, with goals from Siyabonga Sangweni and Thabo Matlaba handing VV's side an advantage.

However, overcoming a tough Pirates side will undoubtedly be a tough ask for a Students outfit that are short on goals. Wits have managed to score just three goals in their opening five matches of the campaign.

With that said, Pirates' defence have looked shaky at times in 2014/15, and the Clever Boys may just feel they have a chance. Nonetheless, Hunt believes strongly that a comeback is possible against the Soweto giants.

Hunt, speaking to the PSL's official Twitter feed, said, "I played Chiefs a couple of years ago and they were leading 2-0. I won the second leg 3-0. Anything is possible."

The match between Pirates and Wits gets underway at Orlando Stadium on Saturday (August 23). The action begins from 20h15 in Johannesburg.
