Phunya Sele Sele progressed to the semi-finals of the MTN8 after seeing off Sundowns 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
However, Larsen admits Celtic struggled to get going in the first half, but was pleased to see his side keep the Brazilians at bay.
"We knew that good organisation was going to be the order of the day, first half, they had a lot of ball in the final third and never really hurt us, except for twice when they got into the box and we really didn't play at all in the first half," Larsen said after the game.
"But we regrouped at halftime and came out a lot stronger, I thought the three substitutes had a positive impact on the game, Zuma, Ntanga as well as Lyle Lakay and once the never say die attitude came to the fore and I'm very for the boys."
"We thought our attacking players in Nyatama and in particular Keagan Buchanan was outstanding, he ran his legs off .
"We knew first game of the season, fitness is not where want it to be and those changes were important to keep the balance and the momentum going forward, I thought the substitutes done that."
