Benni And Eric Used To Be Teammates, Now Their Rival Coaches

It doesn't seem like so long ago that they lined up alongside each other to do battle for Bafana Bafana, but this weekend Benni McCarthy and Eric Tinkler go head-to-head.   Read: Tinkler On SuperSport's Emptying Sick Room   One of them is Bafana's all-time top scorer and the other was part of the famous African Cup of Nations-winning team of 1996, but both go down as two of the best players that South Africa has produced.   Now, as they continue to progress in their fledgeling coaching careers, it hasn't taken long for the two Bafana legends to be pitted against each other.   This evening at Moses Mabhida Stadium it will be McCarthy v Tinkler in the MTN8 final as the former seeks a trophy in his first season as a head coach and the latter looks to make it two trophies in the last two years.    Sign up for the MTN8 predictor and stand a chance to win a soccer jersey of your choice!    The 'Benni v Eric' line is just one of many subplots going into the game as last year's Telkom Knockout finalists clash again and Tinkler takes on his former team, and it is given a little bit more spice given that the two coaches clashed in 2011 when they were at Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits respectively.   While both have been quick to explain that the hatchet has been buried following that bust up at the TKO final, it does make things interesting as the two former South African internationals line up against each other.   The duo both played at the highest level during their playing days, but who do you think will come out on top in their first clash as coaching rivals?
