The Bees 2-1 Baroka FC
Newly promoted Bees FC started their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign with a 2-1 victory over Baroka FC at the Kanyamazane Stadium.
The visitors broke the deadlock just after the 30-minute mark courtesy of a goal from defender Bonginkosi Makume.
The Bees pulled themselves level before the halftime break, with Khayaelihle Xaba getting the team's first goal in the first division.
Sicelo Masilela went on to bag the winning goal in the second half for the home side.
Midland Wanderers 1-0 Hungry Lions
Midlands Wanderers enjoyed a winning start in the Championship after defeating Hungry Lions 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The NFD new boys got the winning goal in the second period through Nkockhona Gazu, who converted a penalty.

Cape Town City started their Motsepe Foundation Championship journey with a goalless draw against Venda Football Club at Athlone Stadium.
Milford FC 1-0 Lerumo Lions
Milford FC enjoyed a winning start to the season after defeating Lerumo Lions 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Nqaba Xulu got the game's only goal for the home side with two minutes left in regulation time.
Upington City 4-2 Kruger United
Upington City made a strong start to the season by defeating Kruger United 4-2 at the Mxolisi Dick Jacobs Stadium.
Mziwokuthula Zimu bagged a brace for the hosts while Lesedi Motha also scored in a crazy first half, where Kruger managed o score twice.
Motha completed his brace on 53 minutes, which proved to be the final goal of the contest and sealed the win for City.
Black Leopards 0-3 Casric Stars
Last season's play-off contenders Casric Stars opened their campaign with a solid 3-0 win over Black Leopards.
Leopards, meanwhile, were only able to field ten players on the day.
Decide Chauke opened the scoring for the visitors two minutes before the halftime break.
Simon Moukete doubled the lead on 82 minutes before Tshepo Mohlala rounded off the scoring in time added on.

Gomora United opened their Championship campaign with a 1-0 win over Leicesterford in the battle of the newly-promoted sides on Friday afternoon.
Xola Mosiea got the game's only goal in the first half to secure United's first-ever win in the First Division.
Highbury 1-1 University of Pretoria
Highbury FC and University of Pretoria settled for a share of the spoils in the Championship opener on Friday.
Siyabonga Dubula put the home side ahead in the period, before Prince Nxumalo brought AmaTuks level in the 60th minute.
