Date: 24 May 2014
Venue: Estadio da Luz
Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid will battle it out for Europe's biggest prize in club football when they lock horns in the final of UEFA Champions League at the Estadio da Luz in Portugal on Saturday night.
The match will get underway at 20h45.
The two teams come into the final with vastly different histories in the competition as Atletico hope to secure their debut European title while Real Madrid are looking for their record-extending tenth title.
Real made their way into the final after dispatching of Bayern Munich in a two legged semifinal affair while Atletico got the better of Chelsea.
Atletico will be coming into this match on a high after lifting the La Liga title last weekend following a 1-1 draw against Barcelona.
Madrid will also be in high spirits after beating Espanyol 3-1 in their last La Liga match of the season.
The two teams have only ever met once before in continental competition, in the European Cup semi-finals in 1958/59 which Real ran out 2-1 winners.
The city neighbours have met four times already this season.
In La Liga, Atletico won 1-0 at Real's Bernabeu stadium and they drew 2-2 at the Calderon in the return, while in the two-legged Copa del Rey semi-finals Atletico were on the end of a 5-0 aggregate drubbing.
In team news both sides have their key players starting the game in Cristiano Ronaldo for Real and Diego Costa for Atletico.
