Mamelodi Sundowns will be wary of a giant-killing act when they visit Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup last 32 on Friday evening.
Teams: Richards Bay v Mamelodi Sundowns
Date: 04 February 2022
Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium
Time: 18h00
The Brazilians will be eyeing another deep cup run after they lost the title they won in 2020 by being knocked out in the semi-finals last year by eventual winners Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (now known as Marumo Gallants) on penalties.
Sundowns have won this tournament under current sponsors, three times, including in 2008 and 2015 and will be searching for their fourth crown.
The Tshwane giants have also bolstered their squad with the signings of Teboho Mokoena from SuperSport United and Bradley Ralani from Cape Town City.
The Natal Rich Boyz, on the other hand, will be looking to transfer their form in the GladAfrica Championship to the cup, as they currently top the standings.
The KwaZulu-Natal side will be buoyed by the fact that they knocked out Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs in this round last season en route to reaching the quarter-finals, before they were knocked out by eventual finalists Chippa United.
