Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to redeem themselves in the Nedbank Cup when they host TS Galaxy in the last 32 on Saturday evening at FNB Stadium.
Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v TS Galaxy
Date: 12 February 2022
Venue: FNB Stadium
Time: 18h00
Chiefs will be looking to keep their hopes of winning their first major silverware since 2015 alive and will be desperate to redeem themselves after the embarrassment of being knocked out in the first round of this tournament last year by second-tier side Richards Bay.
Amakhosi have won this competition under current sponsors once in 2013 under coach Stuart Baxter during his first spell in charge.
Baxter has won the Nedbank Cup a record three times as a coach after also winning back-to-back titles with SuperSport United in 2016 and 2017.
The Rockets, meanwhile, won this tournament for the first time in 2019 at the expense of Chiefs after upsetting them 1-0 in the final while they were still campaigning in the GladAfrica Championship.
Galaxy will be looking to improve last year's showing after they were knocked out in the first round by second-tier side TS Sporting.
The Rockets have made a number of signings in the January transfer window, including Shane Roberts on loan from Cape Town City, Lefa Hlongwane, Vuyo Mere and Mzwanele Mahashe, who is carrying a suspension from Royal AM and won't be available.
Midfielder Mlungisi Mbunjana is also suspended for Sead Ramovic's charges.
