Absa Premiership
Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Kaizer Chiefs
Date: 17 October 2017
Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns host a hapless Kaizer Chiefs side in an Absa Premiership clash tonight at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The teams in action have an equal number of points (nine), with Sundowns having played three games less than their visitors today.
The Brazilians will look to keep up their winning momentum that has seen them win three matches on the trot after suffering a surprise loss to Polokwane City on match day one.
Pitso Mosimane's men boast a strong attack comprising of Bafana Bafana internationals Percy Tau and Themba Zwane as well as a former Amakhosi star George Lebese.
However, Sundowns will be without the services of Anthony Laffor and Yannick Zakri for tonight's encounter.
Amakhosi suffered a disappointing defeat against an in-form Baroka FC in their last encounter and are simply struggling to gain any winning momentum. The task is not getting easier as they take on a star-studded Sundowns team with a potentially weakened defense.
With Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Lorenzo Gordinho, Tsepo Masilela and Kgotso Moleko missing through injury, coach Steve Komphela is faced with a tough task of mending a wounded backline and will have to come up with a smart strategy to keep out the Sundowns attack and come away with a positive result.
Here's how they line up:
Sundowns: 14. Onyango, 4. Langerman, 6. Arendse, 27. Morena, 32. Madisha, 13. Mabunda, 8. Kekana, 33. Billiat, 18. Zwane, 11. Vilakazi, 22. Tau.
Chiefs: 1. Khune, 4. Cardoso, 3. Mathoho, 30. Ngezana, 22. Zulu, 31. Katsande, 12. Maluleka, 27. Ekstein, 14. Tshabalala, 23. Molangoane, 25. Parker.
