Absa Premiership
Teams: Platinum Stars v Polokwane City
Date: 03 December 2016
Venue: Royal Bafokeng Stadium
Platinum Stars will be looking to end their three-game losing run when they host Polokwane City this afternoon.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 15h30.
Stars have suffered third consecutive league defeat, after they went down 3-1 to Free State Stars during the week.
Dikwena will be looking to get away from the slippery slope as they have slipped to 13th place on the log with nine points from 10 games.
One piece of good news for the Rustenburg-based side is that they will be welcoming back first choice goalkeeper Mbongeni Mzimela who missed the previous game due to suspension. Although, Steven Hoffman retains his spot in the side.
Meanwhile, Polokwane City are on a three-game unbeaten run that has seen them maintain their seventh spot on the log for weeks.
In their last encounter they drew 3-3 with Golden Arrows in midweek with Rodney Ramagalela, Thobani Mncwango and Jabulani Maluleke finding the back of the net for the Rise and Shine.
The visitors will be missing Thobani Mncwango, who was their top goal-scorer last season, due to suspension.
In their meetings last season in the league Polokwane City won 1-0 over Platinum Stars in the first-round, while Dikwena thrashed the Rise and Shine 3-0 in the reverse fixture.
Here's how they line up:
Stars: 1. Hoffman, 3. Mlilo, 4. Gumede, 21. Zulu, 23. Mnguni, 28. Mathe, 30. Mere, 22. Ng'ambi, 10. Mabena, 17. Ntuli, 7. Shilongo.
