Teams: Orlando Pirates v Bidvest Wits
Date: 15 August 2020
Venue: Emirates Airline Park
Orlando Pirates will be eager to snap out of their slump when they take on Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership on Saturday evening at the Emirates Airline Park.
Pirates restarted their campaign on Tuesday in a goalless draw with title-chasing Mamelodi Sundowns, extending their winless run to three matches in the league without scoring a goal.
Josef Zinnbauer's army need to start picking up points if they are to challenge for the league title, as they are currently lying third on the log, eight points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs and they are left with only six matches.
On the other hand, Wits will be playing their third match in a space of a week since the restart after going down 3-2 against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals last Saturday, before they held Chiefs to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.
As a result, the Clever Boys moved up to fifth on the log, ten points behind Amakhosi and a win could see them leapfrog the Buccaneers into third place.
The sides will be meeting for the second time this season, with Wits winning 4-3 in the first-round league clash in September and on penalties in the Nedbank Cup in the quarter-finals just before the break.
