Absa Premiership
Teams: Moroka Swallows v Orlando Pirates
Date: 17 December 2014
Venue: Dobsonville Stadium
Moroka Swallows and Orlando Pirates will lock horns in the original Soweto Derby when they lock horns in an Absa Premiership match at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 19h30.
The Buccaneers will be looking to continue their impressive form which saw them thump Ajax Cape Town 4-0 in their last league outing.
The result took Pirates up to fifth on the table with 22 points, but a win against Swallows could see them up to fourth.
Swallows, on the other hand, come into this game off the back of a 0-0 draw against Bloemfontein Celtic which sees them in 14th place on 15 points.
The Birds will be desperate to move away from the relegation zone and a win over Pirates could see them move up to 11th on the table.
In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Pirates have met in 59 league matches since 1985.
The Buccaneers have 23 wins compared to 12 for the Birds, while 24 matches have been drawn.
When the teams met earlier this season at Orlando Stadium, goals from Lantshele Phalane and Lerato Chabangu took the Birds to a 2-1 away win.
