At the beginning of the current season Mamelodi Sundowns signed Brazilian forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa from Belgium and in three DStv Premiership games he has scored twice already.

Now, after watching him play, former Brazilians defender and captain Thabo Nthethe has stated that the South American player is the real deal and that coach Rulani Mokwena signed a top player.
Nthethe is currently the assistant coach at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars. He was speaking to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview, underling the high potential of Costa to wow audiences in South Africa.
The Masandawana legend believes that the recruitment system has helped bring in top players who can easily fit into the team's culture and system.
"I have watched him. He is the real deal!" Nthethe told Soccer Laduma.
"The guy is good and coach Rulani (Mokwena) has introduced him to the culture of the team which he understands it very well.
"He has settled in so quickly and that's what good players do. You know the guy is new in the team but he is already giving opposition defenders difficult times.

"It will be hard to stop him. I am just looking forward to the time when he has more caps at the club and he gets really settled and understands other players better.
"He will play even better than what we have already seen. The good thing is that he has provided what the team needed from him as soon as he joined the team. That is to take the pressure away from Peter Shalulile. That's a great move for the team," Nthethe concluded.
