With two goals already to his name so far in the 2021/22 season, a Nigerian striker is putting himself in a favourable position for a return to Mamelodi Sundowns if he continues with his impressive form throughout the campaign.
As reported by the Siya crew, Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro had been identified as a signing for Sundowns in 2019 already, however, after suffering an injury, the player had his start at the Chloorkop outfit delayed as he worked on his recovery in the last few months.
Having fully recovered and back on the field, the 19-year-old surfaced at the University of Pretoria, where he has been making progress.
However, the player's move to the GladAfrica Championship side was not officially communicated, though indications are that an agreement has been reached between the Brazilians and AmaTuks to have him play on loan in the second tier this season.
As reported in the latest Soccer Laduma, edition 1249, Ighodaro remains a property of Sundowns and is expected to return to the league champions at the end of the season.
"Etiosa Ighodaro has had an impressive start at University of Pretoria and is being monitored by Sundowns. He is a Sundowns player and is on loan at Tuks for this season. That boy is talented and has a bright future. He will return to Sundowns at the end of the season. Had it not been for the injury, he would have made progress at Sundowns and would have competed for a place in the team," said a source.
