Cardoso Warns Sundowns: 'Bad Emotions Can Take You Out'

Cardoso Warns Sundowns: 'Bad Emotions Can Take You Out'

"What I have to do is to let them lead the right emotions because the right emotions can make you choose the right behaviour on the field. I am not speaking about the behaviour outside but on the pitch. Bad emotions can take you out of that behaviour. But good emotions build relationships which help us build relationships on how we want to play and that's why we need to be emotionally ready for this game," Cardoso observed.

Cardoso also expressed confidence in his team's preparations for the Saturday showdown against Pirates, aiming for a win and the full three points to steer further ahead of Bucs on the table.

"The preparations are going on very well. We trained today (Thursday) mainly with the players who didn't play on Wednesday against SuperSport United and those on the bench. We will continue to recover tomorrow (Friday) and be ready for the game on Saturday where our main target, just like Pirates themselves, is a win and three points. This is not the only important game as all the games in the championship are important but we will play to win and get all the three points," Cardoso concluded.

Additionally, Cardoso commented on the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, highlighting its benefits not only for Sundowns but also for the national team.

"It's not like the coaches are complaining because of the (extra) games or the competition. It's about the schedule. You know the tournament starts immediately after the (league) championship in almost all the countries, (the season) just ends. And with us, we are not even sure when the next season starts and that can disturb the preparations. That's the only concern. But as for the tournament itself it's a great initiative for the African teams competing there and for us as South Africa, it won't just help Sundowns. If Sundowns' players are doing well and gaining experience at a world level then it's also good for the national team. So, this World Cup for clubs is very important and we will be planning very well for it so that we achieve positive results from there, come June," Cardoso observed.
