Ajax Cape Town's young midfield starlet Grant Margeman is understood to have agreed a deal with Mamelodi Sundowns – in principle.

At the time, his agent Ntobatsi Masegela would not discuss whether talks between the two clubs were ongoing. What he did confirm was that he'd been in conversation with Downs' top management regarding the player.
It appears there have been new developments since, with a high ranking insider at Sundowns informing the crew that Margeman – one of Ajax's best performers since his promotion from the youth set up in 2016 – could very well be at Chloorkop next season. If there's no U-turn in a deal that has been agreed to in principle, the midfielder should be on their books.
With Downs captain Hlompho Kekana now 34-years-old and in the twilight of his career, Margeman is seen as his successor.
He also has experience in the topflight having been the core of the Ajax team that got relegated to the National First Division in May last year. Margeman, who is part of SA's Olympic qualification team, had featured in 23 matches in all competitions in the topflight the season the club was sent down to the lower tier.
