Kaizer Chiefs will be without at least one of their players this evening in the Nedbank Cup, and Ernst Middendorp has explained why he will be missing…
Kgotso Moleko has stepped up in 2020 as he filled in for a Reeve Frosler that was coming back from injury, and also started their most recent game as they went on to record a 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in the Absa Premiership.
Now though, with Chiefs taking on Royal Eagles later today, it has been confirmed that he will not feature due to 'stiff muscles', suggesting that Frosler will take back his starting berth at right back when matters get underway at FNB Stadium.
Middendorp told the club's official website, "We thought Kgotso had some stiff muscles… We looked at the situation, and said, look we have some options in that role, and decided to give him a chance to recover."
There is positive news, however, with the return of both Khama Billiat and Anthony Akumu, with the German saying, "I am happy to see our camp vibrant and ready for the match… We have players like Khama Billiat and Akumu Agay available for selection. I think the element of other players having a chance to play has added some spice in the team. It's good."
Chiefs host Eagles at 18h00 this evening as they look to join the likes of Chippa United and Maritzburg United in the Round of 16.
