Kaizer Chiefs have tried different combinations for their central defensive pair and we take a look at which options have worked best for the club.
One of those combinations has been the starting of the two new signings in Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, which was also consistently used under previous head coach Molefi Ntseki.

Now, former Chiefs defender Thomas Sweswe believes the duo of Msimango and Ditlhokwe is even good enough to win the team trophies.
Talking to Soccer Laduma from his base in England, the Zimbabwean born Sweswe has pointed out that interim coach Cavin Johnson should not change this combination which is best for the club going forward.
"This is the right combination. If you look at when these two have played together, the team has done very well. Yes, they lost some of those games because that's how football is but you have to look at the performance as a whole," Sweswe told the Siya crew.
"Look at the last two games where they have kept two clean sheets - those two were playing together. They have a very good understanding which is good for the team. But the technical team should also look at other defenders who can compliment these two.
"Whether it's the right back or the left back but it should be the back four that understands each other and compliments each other. You know a good defensive combination is the one that wins you trophies.
"Because the less you concede the more chances you have of winning games and the more games you win the higher the chances of winning trophies. So you need that combination to do the work for you," Sweswe concluded.
