Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi may he started planning for Mamelodi Sundowns long before their Betway Premiership season started.
The Amakhosi coach will face the reigning champions for the first time since taking over at Naturena and would no doubt have a clear idea of what to expect, based on how much he was following team before the league season started.

During Sundowns' MTN8 campaign, Nabi was at Lucas Moripe Stadium on two occasions, keeping a close eye on the Tshwane giants. These matches, coupled with a few others Sundowns have played in other competitions, would no doubt have given Amakhosi's mentor an idea of what to expect when they meet at FNB Stadium tomorrow.
Nabi sat in the stands, carefully watching Sundowns and must have certainly picked up a few things that he can use to try to get a win over the champions in the most anticipated match of the weekend.
Of course, a lot has changed with Sundowns since their exit in the semi-finals of the MTN8. They appear to have found their rhythm under coach Manqoba Mngqithi after that stuttering start, with players such as Iqraam Rayners and Lucas Ribeiro Costa coming to the fore as driving forces in attack for the Tshwane outfit.

Sundowns might not have been convincing in their MTN8 displays, but the number of chances they created were an indication of them being a work in progress and now everything seems to be coming together for them. Nabi would certainly have taken note and prepared his players adequately to face what is not doubt going to be their biggest test so far this season.
