Vilakazi's prodigious talents have shone through from the tie he first introduced himself for Doornkop Students in the popular festive tournament, the Philly's Games.
It didn't take long for Chiefs to snap him up in their development structures where he continued to shine.
He really stamped his mark and showed his readiness in the innovative Carling All Star match where he repaid the fans' faith shown in him with a seasoned performance.
Now, having made his first team bow aged just 18 in Chiefs' disappointing Nedbank Cup exit at the hands of lowly Milford, Vilakazi has opened up on making his long-awaited debut.
"I was very excited and happy to make my debut. Personally, I think I did okay for my first game. I didn't give the ball away too much, but we are all disappointed with the result. I am really grateful to be at a club like Kaizer Chiefs. I am learning every day," he told the club's official website.
"There are many senior players who teach me how to conduct myself as a Kaizer Chiefs player, both on and off the field. They give me advice to help me become a better player and keep improving," he said.
"My friends and family are very happy for me, and it motivates me to make them proud of me when I get minutes for the first team," he said.
