Speaking on GameOn on Radio 2000, Maponyane, the club's record goalscorer, expressed his disappointment.

"The thing to do is to run a riot act to the players, tell them how they embarrass the supporters, followers and the faithful of Kaizer Chiefs," Maponyane told GameOn on Radio 2000.
He proposes a two-pronged approach: holding the players accountable and restructuring their contracts to be performance-based.
"And then take it from there and say 'how do we solve this'? We solve this by giving them an ultimatum, that by the way the contract that you signed doesn't mean you are guaranteed to be here, your performance would determine whether you're here or not," he added.
While advocating for accountability, Maponyane acknowledges the need for guidance and improvement.
"Then you might see something different from the players, not neglecting the fact that they still have to work on what they lack on because you can't just keep telling a child you are not good at this, you're not good at this in class and you not even showing or teaching the child," Maponyane said.
Adding to the pressure, the club remains without a permanent head coach, relying on Cavin Johnson in an interim capacity since Molefi Ntseki's departure four months ago.
Kaizer Chiefs next face a challenging DStv Premiership clash against Moroka Swallows, a team also facing their own set of off-field issues in recent months.
