
Kaizer Chiefs Were Below Par Against Baroka

Ernst Middendorp has revealed what was discussed at half-time as Kaizer Chiefs threw away their already slim title hopes with a 1-0 defeat to Baroka FC at the weekend.

The Glamour Boys were on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions until Saturday evening when a rocket free-kick from Tshediso Patjie saw them undone as they remained in seventh place and perilously close to dropping outside of the top eight.
While Bakgaga picked up a huge three points for their survival effort, Chiefs gave the polar opposite of the performance that they gave out when they comfortably beat Cape Town City the weekend before – and their coach was not happy about it.
As per the club's official website, when asked about the game Middendorp replied, "We can make it short… We produced such a good performance last week, but we gave it away today.

"I warned the players during the week that it was necessary to have the same good spirit and attitude for the Baroka game as we had against Cape Town City. We even discussed it at half-time."
Chiefs now turn their attention to another relegation-threatened side, Black Leopards, who will be eager to turn up the heat even further in Thohoyandou.
