Following their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Royal AM at the weekend, Soccer Laduma looks back at Kaizer Chiefs' most embarrassing defeats in the Premiership.
Stuart Baxter's men were given a royal hiding of note by John Maduka's men at FNB Stadium, suffering their second straight defeat that will go down as one of their worst in the PSL era, but here are others you might remember...
Chiefs 0 Chippa United 3 (2018)
During the 2017/18 season, Amakhosi were beaten 3-0 by Chippa United at FNB. Thabo Rakhale, Mxolisi Macuphu and former Amakhosi striker Edward Manqele were on the scoresheet that day, as the Chilli Boys put the Soweto giants to the sword. The Chilli Boys finished 10th that season.
Golden Arrows 3 Chiefs 1 (2018)
Following Steve Komphela's sacking at Amakhosi, Patrick Mabedi took charge of a struggling Chiefs side in April 2018 and the Soweto giants went 3-1 down to Arrows at Princess Magogo. Lerato Lamola bagged a brace for Arrows, while Velemseni Ndwandwe scored the other goal for the KZN outfit. Bernard Parker scored the only goal for Chiefs.
Chippa 3 Chiefs 1 (2016)
In December 2016, Dan Malesela's Chippa side cruised to a 3-1 victory over Amakhosi at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Chiefs opened the scoring through Siphiwe Tshabalala, but the Chilli Boys bounced back with goals from Lerato Manzini, who netted a brace, and midfielder Tshwarelo Bereng.
Chiefs 0 Santos 3 (2009)
Amakhosi were given a proper footballing lesson by Santos in May 2009, going down 3-0 to the visiting Mother City outfit. Santos opened the scoring through Romano Scott in the seventh minute, before Ryan Chapman doubled the lead two minutes later. Before half-time, Scott completed his brace as Santos wrapped up the game in the first 45 minutes of the clash.
Chiefs 0 SuperSport United 3 (2009)
As hosts, Amakhosi were hammered 3-0 by SuperSport during the 2008/09 campaign. On the day, Brent Carelse, Elias Pelembe and Morgan Gould, who went on to play for Amakhosi a few years later, got on the scoresheet for Matsantsantsa.
Chiefs 2 Silver Stars 4 (2005)
A spirited Silver Stars side gave Amakhosi a beating to remember in November 2005, scoring four goals to seal a memorable victory. Louis Agyemang and Shongwe Chalwe were on the scoresheet for the Soweto giants, while Willem Jackson, Koketso Mmotong and a brace from Katlego Mashego sealed the deal for Stars.
SuperSport 3 Chiefs 0 (2004)
Chiefs may have gone on to win the 2003/04 league season, but they were thrashed 3-0 by Matsatsantsa in May 2004. Daniel Matsau, Tsweu Mokoro and Dennis Masina sealed the win with first half goals. SuperSport played the last 20 minutes of the game with 10 men after Nicholas Chazika was sent off.
Chiefs 0 Black Leopards 3 (2003)
In April 2003, Leopards registered one of their most memorable victories in PSL history, beating Chiefs 3-0 away from home. Christopher Netshidzivhe scored from the penalty spot before Dingaan Masanabo scored a brace for Lidoda Duvha.
