Kaizer Chiefs have identified a Bafana Bafana midfielder as a transfer target, the Siya crew has been informed.
After parting ways with Orlando Pirates last year, having struggled for game-time since he was promoted from the club's development in 2017, Yusuf Maart has done well to resurrect his career at Sekhukhune United.
The 26-year-old has been one of the impressive players for Babina Noko so far in the 2021/22 season and is also part of coach Hugo Broos' Bafana squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
A well-placed source has confirmed to the Siya crew that the attacking midfielder is monitored by Amakhosi with a view of adding him to coach Stuart Baxter's squad.
"There is an interest from Kaizer Chiefs in Sekhukhune United's Yusuf Maart and the player is being monitored by Chiefs. Yusuf could move to Chiefs as early as in January next year if the two clubs (Chiefs and Sekhukhune) could agree on his transfer," said the source.
The Cape Town-born player's contract with Sekhukhune runs until June 2023 which means that Chiefs or any other interested suitor would have to pay a transfer fee to Babina Noko.
