Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Josta Dladla believes the onus lies solely on the current players to pull the club out of its current slump.
Following the recent Nedbank Cup defeat, Dladla emphasized that it's not the management, coach, or fans who need to "bail them out."

"I don't know whether people will understand this. And whether the players will take it the right way but they put themselves in this position and situation and only they can bail the team out of this situation. It's time to get themselves out now. This is not the management's fault or the coach's fault. The management bought them and gave them the chance to play for Kaizer Chiefs. It is now up to the players to fight for results. Fight for the badge and of course fight for their next contract. If you do well for the team and the team wins you will be rewarded with a new contract. And that's what the players should be fighting for now and that will increase the chances of the team doing well and moving away from the current situation," Dladla observed.
Dladla had emphasized the critical connection between individual effort, team success, and future prospects.
"The coach chooses his first eleven at training and gives them the chance to play and do well for the team. He sees what they do at training and he selects them based on that. At that point the responsibility is upon the players."
He reiterated his stance, highlighting the players' sole responsibility for the current situation.
"The coach can not change this situation. The management can not change the situation and even the supporters cannot do anything to chance the situation. So the players should take the responsibility and make sure that the team is improving as far as good results are concerned," Dladla told Soccer Laduma.
Kaizer Chiefs will face another struggling team, Moroka Swallows, at FNB Stadium on Saturday, March 2, hoping to turn things around and climb out of their current predicament.
