Legendary former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Joseph 'Banks' Setlhodi has revealed that he once warned the club's hierarchy about some of the decisions regarding the players.
Amakhosi have looked to be a revived team under Cavin Johnson who is an interim coach, having won both their last two matches against Moroka Swallows and Polokwane City respectively.

While the focus will be on the team to maintain their progress in their upcoming matches starting with the clash against Richards Bay FC, a lot has been said about the quality of players that have been signed by the Soweto giants in recent seasons.
Setlhodi says the signs have been there since the days of the likes of the late and John Moshoeu and Isaac Kungwane and claims that he did alert the club's boss Kaizer Motaung and football manager Bobby Motaung about replacing them.
"There is this other time I told Kaizer and Bobby that I thought it was a mistake to let go of five senior players around the same time. It was around the same time when Shoes (Moshoeu), Thabo Mooki, Doctor Khumalo, Ace Khuse and Shakes Kungwane. The new players came and my concern was that the new arrivals were people who didn't know what Kaizer Chiefs is all about," said Setlhodi.

"For almost 45 years when Chiefs was winning trophies, the club had some of the great players and it didn't take too long for players to gel at the club. If I can tell you something, when Kaizer Motaung himself stopped playing football nobody noticed. The same thing happened for many other players as well, including myself and that's because the team was doing well and with top players and it was like a well-oiled machine," he said.
