Kaizer Chiefs may face challenges in signing a new striker, which could potentially impact one of their current players' opportunities to move to Europe.
Indications are that Ashley Du Preez's potential transfer to Victoria SC in Portugal is understood to be on hold until Chiefs secure a suitable replacement. Insiders have hinted that the club is hesitant to let the attacker go without first bolstering their striking options.

Siya sources have suggested that the 27-year-old looks set to remain with Amakhosi for the time being, pending the acquisition of a new striker.
"There was a strong desire to see him move to Europe, but the lack of a replacement has complicated matters. An offer of R40 million was reportedly on the table, which could have facilitated the signing of several quality strikers. However, without a guarantee of securing those targets, the move was halted. This has been a significant stumbling block. The interest was genuine, and it's unfortunate that the deal didn't materialize for both the club and Du Preez. Nevertheless, there is still hope for a potential move in January," a source revealed to the Siya crew.

It is believed that Chiefs are currently concerned about the club's depth in the striking department and are cautious about losing a key player.
"Considering the current roster, they have only four outright strikers: Ranga Chivaviro, Christian Saile, Wandile Duba, and Du Preez. Moreover, Saile and Du Preez are more suited to winger roles than central striking positions. Losing Du Preez without a replacement could leave the team vulnerable. Therefore, they are likely waiting to secure a new striker before allowing Du Preez to leave. This delay has seemingly prevented his move to Europe," the source added.
