It hasn't been an easy season for Kaizer Chiefs, but interim coach Cavin Johnson can end the year in style for the Soweto giants and give them some hope for 2024.
Amakhosi registered back-to-back Premiership victories for the first time under the tutelage of Johnson when they beat Polokwane City 1-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium, moving to 20 points after 14 matches.

It was only the second time this season they have registered two wins in a row, so they will have an opportunity to make it three straight victories for the first time in this campaign when they play their next Premiership match.
That match, set to be played on December 23, will be at home to Richards Bay, giving Amakhosi a good opportunity to overcome a side that has been struggling this season.
Amakhosi have struggled for consistency for some time, but they are hopeful that Johnson will steady the ship and possibly be in charge until the end of the campaign while they take time to make sound decisions on who should be their next permanent head coach.
The clash against Richards Bay will also give Amakhosi an opportunity to improve on their home record this season. In the seven home matches they have played in this campaign, the Soweto giants have registered just three victories, drawing two and losing two.

This record is not one that would impress Johnson or management, so their next match gives them a chance to improve on the record and register three consecutive victories in the league for the first time.
