Kaizer Chiefs' struggles over the past decade has resulted in many pundits, legends and fans sharing their theories as to why the club has not won a trophy in years.
Amakhosi interim coach Cavin Johnson has shared his own view on the matter when he spoke to the media in a press conference after Chiefs drew 0-0 against Moroka Swallows on the weekend.

This follows the likes of Junior Khanye believing that the problem at Naturena is "spiritual" as expressed in his interview with Soccer Laduma recently.
Now, Johnson has pointed out that their opponents are even more motivated to upset them, as has been the case over the years. The mentor has mentioned the role of sangomas who are believed to be pulling the strings behind the scenes in South African football.
"You must also believe that everybody who plays Chiefs, not now but in the last eight years always puts up their hands and instead of going to one sangoma, they go to five," Johnson said in the press conference.
Chiefs' most recent encounter, against Swallows, was a topsy-turvy clash, where Johnson was not pleased with the result and spoke about the club's objectives for the rest of the season.
"Our target is one that we have always had from the time I took over, is to win as many games and get as high as possible in the league.
"Now that we have come back and because we have let ourselves down in the Nedbank, we got to make sure that every game we play from now on is a cup final because we also know that every team that plays against us also plays as if it was a cup final.
"So, we have got our work cut out for us and we just make sure that we stay on top of our game for as long as we can.
"We haven't lost a game in the last six so we can take a little bit of maybe arrogance from that but we need the points, the bottom line is we need the points," Johnson stated.
Amakhosi had exited the Nedbank Cup at the hands of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford FC over a week ago, though technically one might say they didn't lose the game until the penalty shootout. That in itself is not a statistic to be proud of against a lower tier team. Even more concerning is the fact that Chiefs have not scored a goal in the year 2024 so far.
