Bidvest Wits will be hoping to redeem themselves from their weekend defeat when they take on Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night. Statistically, the Clever Boys have the upper hand in their record over Amakhosi.
Gavin Hunt is an opponent Chiefs know all too well. They have faced him on countless occasions during his time with SuperSport and more recently during his reign at Wits.
In recent times, Hunt has more often than not, managed to come up trumps when facing a Chiefs side.
In the last five matches between the two teams, Wits have managed an impressive two wins, with Chiefs walking away victorious on one occasion. Two of the clashes have ended in a draw.
Wits' most recent win over Amakhosi came back in the 2018/19 when they triumphed 3-1 over the Glamour Boys with Gift Mothupa, Terrence Dzjukumanja and Deon Hotto all finding the back of the net.
Chiefs however, managed to get their revenge late last year with a 2-0 win, in which Hendrick Ekstein and Leonardo Castro were on target for the men from Naturena.
With a favourable goalless draw between title contenders Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns at the Dobsonville stadium on Tuesday, Ernst Middendorp will be hoping to take advantage of that and make in two wins in two matches over The Clever Boys at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.
Kick-off between the two sides is at 18:00.
