Amakhosi have had a number of stars in their rich history, but there's a long list of players many may have forgotten donned the famous black and gold jersey of the Soweto giants. Some of the players, such as Edwin Sitayitayi, Wayne Matle, Siboniso Ngcobo, Philani Cele, Abraham Jacobs and Chris Matombo, were promoted from the development side and a lot was promised, but their careers did not quite go as planned.

There are players Chiefs signed from the lower divisions, such as Sakhile Hlongwa, Brent Lawler and Stephen Ncanana, and then there was Austrian-born goalkeeper Markus Bocskor, who was signed by former Amakhosi mentor Muhsin Ertugral.
Some of these players were hailed as future stars, but they were unable to make any sort of mark at Naturena.
