The story

Stellenbosch FC will play their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round, first-leg against Nsingizini Hotspurs (Eswatini) at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, with plenty of excitement brewing in their camp.

The first leg will be hosted by the Eswatini side on Saturday, 17 August, with Stellies scheduled to host return leg on Saturday, 24 August, at the same venue, due to running repairs on the Danie Craven Stadium pitch.

Stellies' media team shared a video of the players being asked what they're most excited about heading into the weekend, with Kyle Jurgens, Omega Mdaka, Fawaaz Basadien, and Bradley Mojela sharing their views:

"The most exciting part of this weekend is playing my first game for CAF [in the CAF Confed Cup] and playing for the fans, coaches, for a new opportunity and making history," said homegrown Stellies talent, Jurgens.

"I am excited that I will be playing for the first time in CAF with the team, to make our fans proud, to go all out and it will be our first CAF match together so yeah, just very excited," said former Kaizer Chiefs youth product, Omega Mdaka.

"I think for me personally, the most exciting thing is putting on the jersey, knowing that we're going to play a CAF game and lot a league game or a cup game," stated Basadien, with his new teammate, Mojela adding:

"It's going to be my first appearance in the CAF Confederations Cup. I am very excited to playing in this tournament."
