The Colombian striker will arrive at the club at the turn of the year from Mamelodi Sundowns, and is reported to have set Bobby Motaung and company back R2 million for his services.
It has been suggested that Chiefs wanted to pounce on his services earlier instead of waiting to sign him up in June, when he would have been become a free agent.
This move saw Amakhosi reportedly fork out about R2 million for Castro, but if they bought him when he had more than six months left on his contract, they would've had to pay his full net worth.
According to Transfermarkt, Castro's market value is said to be roughly R6.4 million, meaning Chiefs have actually saved about R4.4 million upon acquiring his services. Smart move, especially with the knowledge that they weren't guaranteed to get him if they waited for him to become a free agent.
Do you think Chiefs did some good business in signing Castro?
