The story

During his playing days, the Sundowns legend has the healthy reputation of not only being a serial winner but also possessed lethal ball-striking ability.

The 39-year-old made 21 caps for Bafana Bafana and scored on three occasions, with one of those goals being a screamer against Cameroon in 2016.

On this day, nine years ago, Kekana stunned the Cameroonian supporters in Limbe with an audacious but stunning goal from inside his own half when Bafana Bafana played out a 2-2 draw with the west African giants in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The retired midfield general took to Instagram to mark the ninth anniversary of his goal, which was shortlisted for the FIFA Puskas Award. This was Kekana's first of two nominations for the elite accolade in his career.

"On this day some years ago, I scored goal of the century. Oh, poor goalkeeper," wrote Kekana in captioning his clip of the special goal on Instagram.
