The story

Continuing a theme set a couple of seasons ago, Mamelodi Sundowns have received a major show of support ahead of their CAF Champions League (CAF CL) final from DJ Khaled.

The seasoned hitmaker, responsible for hits such as “Wild Thoughts” and “God Did”, is featured in digital billboards supporting Downs, lighting up parts of Gauteng.

The campaign, spearheaded by Roc Nation Sports International — Sundowns’ global marketing partner — comes just in time for the first leg of the CAF CF final this Saturday against Pyramids at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Two eye-catching billboards featuring DJ Khaled dressed in the Brazilians' yellow kit have been unveiled at key locations: Nelson Mandela Square and Katherine Street in Sandton.

The displays carry an uplifting message from Khaled, reading, "Good luck Mamelodi Sundowns, let’s go. The sky is the limit!"

More than just a rallying cry for the upcoming clash, the initiative also celebrates the club’s remarkable achievement of securing their eighth consecutive DStv Premiership title and builds anticipation for their debut at the expanded FIFA Club World Cup next month.

DJ Khaled will also further cement his support with a series of hype messages that will be broadcast on the big screens at Loftus Versfeld on matchday this weekend.
