Dear Arsene Wenger,
After another shocking display from Arsenal on Thursday night, I'm afraid that it may be time for you to call it quits before your legacy diminishes into nothing but fresh air. Leave now, before it's too late.
As a fan, I will always have the utmost respect for you. When you joined the club in 1996, you gave me a reason to support the famous Arsenal. Your philosophy of football once worked and put fear into opposing teams. Now, though, we are seeing nothing but outdated tactics.
You are tarnishing your legacy and it is becoming painful to watch. Yes, the players need to take some sort of responsibility, but it all comes down to you. It is your job to manage them and ensure the best for this club.
We cannot sit back and allow this to continue happening, which is why this letter is addressed to you and not the board, because, like you said in a press conference, you control your own destiny.
What you fail to realise, Mr Wenger, is that us fans will respect you even more if you walk away. If you do so, then you would show us that you truly love this club.
Right now, you don't owe us a thing. We are Arsenal FC, not Arsene FC. We were founded in 1886, not 1996.
For the younger generation, your legacy shows that you are a manager whose side struggles for a top four finish, cannot show up in big games, has no passion, no fight in them whatsoever, and not to mention the ongoing protests.
The neutrals are having a laugh, but it isn't a joke anymore. You are damaging the club I grew up watching and dedicated my life to. My first love is being crushed before my very eyes. It hurts me, it hurts all of us.
It's like everybody wants changes but nobody has the heart to make it happen, so please, I beg of you, step down, because the board clearly don't have the cojones to sack you.
I really do hope that this letter finds you well.
From: A very disheartened Arsenal fan who wants nothing but the best for Arsenal Football Club.
Do you think it's time for Wenger to step down as manager of Arsenal, or can he still turn the club's fortunes around?
