Usuthu Stars Pay Respect To Ntuli

AmaZulu's players and coaches visited Bonginkosi Ntuli's family to pay their respects to the late striker. Check it out!

What's the story?

AmaZulu FC is sadly mourning the loss of striker Bongi Ntuli, who passed away aged 32 on Sunday following a short battle with cancer.

Grieving Usuthu players and coaches offered their support to Ntuli's family visiting his homestead on Tuesday afternoon.

AmaZulu stars pay their respects

AmaZulu sent shock waves around the country on Sunday by announcing the untimely passing of striker Bongi Ntuli.

Usuthu confirmed that Ntuli was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and passed away on Sunday afternoon at a Pietermaritzburg hospital.

"Ntuli was (very recently) diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, which metastasized and ultimately led to his death at the Midlands Medical Centre Private Hospital, in Pietermaritzburg this [Sunday] afternoon.

"May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. The club requests privacy and patience be granted his family and friends at this difficult time. Further announcements will be made in due course," read parts of Usuthu's statement.

The players and staff headed to eMkhambathini, an area that's 24.1 km away from Pietermaritzburg, where Ntuli's family resides and offered their support. 

Veli Mothwa led the way with flowers and was followed by teammates, coaches and other AmaZulu representatives as they walked in singing sorrowfully as they mourn the veteran striker.

AmaZulu revealed the details of Ntuli's memorial service and funeral, with the latter taking place on Thursday, 9 November and the memorial service is happening today at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
