Raymond Mdaka's Amajita side made history by being crowned the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations champions.
This triumph marks a significant milestone as South Africa's U20 national team became the first junior national side from the country to win a continental title.
They secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Morocco in the final, held on Sunday evening at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
The decisive goal came in the 70th minute from Mamelodi Sundowns reserve midfielder Gomolemo Kekana. Initially ruled out, the goal was awarded after a VAR review.
South Africa topped Group A and went on to defeat the Democratic Republic of Congo in extra time and Nigeria in the quarter-finals, both with 1-0 scorelines.
Their impressive campaign has filled the nation with pride, with celebratory moments widely shared across CAF's social media platforms.
